PILOT KILLED ON TEST FLIGHT
(Rec. 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 17. An R.A.F. flight-lieutenant, Alan Edwards, aged 24, was killed when a Meteor jet experimental plane crashed on a wooded hillside'near the R.A.F. station at Tangmere. The plane was blown to pieces. Visibility was practically nil owing to, low cloud. The pilot was trying to' return to the aerodrome.
