The following weather forecast was issued by. the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day: Situation: A deep depression cen tred south-east of Otago is moving eastwards. Forecast to 5 p.tn. to-morrow. Moderate westerly winds; weather cloudy to overcast, with occasional rain, but fair interva s increasing; temperatures moderate. . Further outlook: Fair to cloudy. ' LOCAL recordings. g a . m .—Barometer, 29.83 inches (1010 millibars); thermometer, 58; wind, north-west (fresh breeze), sky, overcast with mild rain; bar, considerable swell; rainfall, 0.60 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 8.65 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 23 ft 3in.
