COUPON SAVING IN NEW ZEALAND
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 19. The following are returns lor 20 postal districts in the forty-fourth week of the New Zealand Famine Emergency Committee’s campaign to save food coupons for Britain. The districts are listed in order of merit calculated on a population basis, meat coupons being listed first and butter coupons second:— Nelson, 11,838, 205; Gisborne, 12,078, 496; Oamaru, 3652, 70; Hawke’s Bay, 12,452, 429; Palmerston North, 11,935; 164; Whangarei, 5428, 40;' Masterton, 2191, 347; Timaru, 3425, 230; Christchurch, 17,320, 417; New Plymouth, 4678, 115; Blenheim, 1108, 54; Invercargill, 4610, 106; Wanganui, 3060. 220; Westport, 439, 42; Thames, 1460, 25; Hamilton, 3113, 41; Dunedin, 3509, 101; Wellington, 4325, 104; Auckland, 8167, 82; Greymouth, 353, 65; totals, 113,880, 3361.
The total coupons given during the campaign, 8,055,879 ' meat, and 319,659 butter, represents an extra 1800 tons of meat and 159.8291 b of butter for Britain.
