THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair to Fine.
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A ridge of high pressure is over central New Zealand; depressions are north-east of the North Island in the south Tasman sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate variable winds; weather fair to fine, apart from patches of fog in the morning; temperatures mild. Further outlook: Cloudy. LOCAL RECORDINGS 9 a m.r Barometer, 30.06 inches (1018 millibars); thermometer, 58; wind, east (gentle breeze); sky, blue; bar, moderate swell; rainfall, 0.01 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 6.53 inches). The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 23ft. sins.
