The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: An anti-cyclone is centred east of the South Island; a trough is advancing across the south Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Light to moderate and variable winds; weather fair to fine; temperatures moderate to mild. Further outlook: Incr&asing cloud. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer, 30.18 inches (1022 millibars): thermometer, 58; wind, north-east (gentle breeze); sky blue; bar, considerable swell; rainfall, 0.01 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 6.52 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water vest.erday_was 24ft IQin.
