V. P. Boot Shield.
A shield in memory of V. P. Boot has been given by members of the South Canterbury Amateur Athletic Cycling Club and the Timaru Harrier Club for competition annually by all clubs in the South Island. The competition will be arranged on an inter-club relay basis—running and aggregate distances of field events. Boot was at one time South Canterbury and Timaru club champion and Canterbury junior cross-country champion.
