Steel Supply Problem Wanganella Repairs
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. Now that the Wanganella is off the reef, one of the problems confronting her owners is the almost desperate position of the steel supply in New Zealand, but until the ship is docked and surveyed, no idea of the requirements in steel plating and other steelwork can be known. An official of the Ministry of Works said to-day that there would be no difficulty in making available any stocks of suitable steel held by the department or available to it, if it was not possible to procure supplies through the normal channels.
