ASSOCIATION FORMED
MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENTS OF HOSPITALS EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION (P.A.) DUNEDIN, Feb. 6. The medical superintendents of hospitals throughout New Zealand have formed an association. This information was presented to the conference of the Hospital Boards Association which concluded at Dunedin to-day. Di*. J. Cairney (Wellington) reported that at a meeting held last night the medical superintendents had decided to form an association and hold meetings annually, whereby matters of value connected with the administration of hospitals could be discussed. The meetings would form a basis for the advancement of hospital affairs generally and exchange of information - . X J The following officers were elected; President, Dr. J. Cairney (superin-tendent-in-chief, Wellington Hospital Board); committee, Drs. A. J. Mason (Ashburton), J. H. North (Palmerston North) and T. L. Parr (Masterton); secretary, Dr. W. S. Fogg (superintendent, Hutt Hospital, Lower Hutt. Support for the executive in its report regarding a national advertising campaign for recruiting nurses was given by delegates at the conference of the Hospital Boards’ Association which approved of the Bay of Plenty Board’s suggestion that greater facilities should be provided for the training of Maoris as medical officers and nurses. The following officers .were elected: President, Mr. J. W. Dove (Dunedin); vice-presidents, Messrs A. F. Moody (Auckland), L. B. Evans (North Canterbury), H. F. Toogood (Wellington); executive, Messrs W. E. Bate Hawke s Bay), S. C. B. Mackie (Waikato), P. E. Stainton (Taranaki), E. Macdonald (South Canterbury) and W. H. Me-. Intyre, M.L.C. (Buller).
