YACHTING Bay Of Plenty Wins Idle Along Race
Some good sailing was seen in the fourth race for the Idle Along contest held at Lyttelton yesterday morning. Auckland, after leading in the first and second rounds, was caught by the Bay of Plenty boat soon after the start of the last round. The latter then outsailed Auckland, to win comfortably by one minute. The win was a most popular one, as Bay of Plenty had been making a good showing throughout the contest. The finish was:—Bay of Plenty, 12.10.1 p.m., 1; Auckland, 12.11.1, 2; Canterbury. 12.11.33, 3; Nelson, 12.12.21; Wellington,-. 12.13.1; Marlborough, 12.16.9; Hawke’s Bay, 12.17.31; Otago,' 12.19.48; Westland, 12.21.34.
