BRUNNER RED CROSS BRANCH ELECTS OFFICERS

■ The resignation of Mr. J. G. Quinn fiom the position of president was accepted, with regret at the annual meeting of the Brunner sub-branch of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, held at Wallsend on Monday evening. Mr. Quinn was thanked for his efforts to keep the branch active in the face-of many difficulties. i The election of officers resulted: president, Mr. E. Hill; vice-presi-cents, Mrs. R. Fordham, Mr. J. Mc-Ifeish;-trustees, Mr. E. Hill and Mr. ,T| McNeish; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. pt Fairman; committee, Misses J. Warren, T. Hill, Mesdames J. Quinn, Purdy, R. Fordham, E. Hill, Messrs L. Hill and J. McNeish; auditor, Mr. J. Raleigh.. The annual report stated that the branch was in a good financial positpn, due mainly to generous donations from members of the Dobson and Wallsend Miners’ Unions and oiier sources.
