CYCLING First Track Meeting for 1947 Held
Competitive cycling was resumed last evening when the Grey Cycling Club held its first meeting of the new year at Victoria Park. The track was slightly rough, but good fields were engaged and the racing was of a high standard. Results: —
Senior Half-mile. —P. Hicks (50 yds), 1; H. Pratt (15yds), 2; J. Alexander (70yds), 3. Twelve started. Time, lmin 6 2-ssec. Senior Two Miles.—P. Hicks (.140 yds), 1; H. Pratt (60yds), 2; M. Bergamini (100yds), 3. Twelve started. Time, smin 7sec.
Junior Half-mile.—l. . Alexander (40yds), 1; P. Egan (75yds), 2; A King (50yd.s), 3. Eight started. Time, lmin 8 4-ssec.
Half-mile Hack—J. Rooney (60 yds), 1; G. Nelson (scr), 2; W. Sheahan (15yds), 3. Time, lmin 17 1-5 sec.
Half-mile Boys.—S. Goodall (20 yds), 1; R. Stokes (scr), and D. Johnston (20yds), dead heat, 2. Time, lmin 24 3-ssec.
