POST-WAR R.N.Z.A.F.
TERRITORIAL FORCE TO BE CONTINUED ■ (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 12. | The continuance of the pre-war scheme for a Territorial Air Force I has a prominent place in the postwar plans of the R.N.Z.A.F. This was revealed by the Minister of Defence (Mr Jones) in a letter to the Air Force Association, at Auckland. The Minister stated that a considerable effort will be necessary for the maintenance of Territorial squadrons, which must have a nucleus of members of the regular Air Force to ensure the efficiency of training and maintenance and general matters of organisation necessary to achieve efficiency in the air. Because of demobilisation, however, the R.N.Z.A.F. is not in a position to provide the necessary regular “component” to enable a start to be made, but it is hoped shortly to begin in a small measure the revival of the Territorial squadron scheme, this depending on the training in the R.N.Z.A.F.
