OBITUARY Mr. F. J. Andrews

The death occurred at Hokitika yesterday, after a' lengthy illness, of Mr. Frederick John Andrews, aged 66. Mr. Andrews was born at Goldsborough and had been engaged in the butchery trade at Hokitika for the past 35 years. He is survived by his wife and seven children. Mrs. EHen Dornan The death occurred at Lower Hutt yesterday of Mrs. Ellen Dornan, aged 81. Mrs. Dornan was formerly a well-known resident of Blackball. She was born in Australia and had lived Avith her son at Lower Hutt for the past two years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walsh (Christchurch), and one son, Frank, of Lower Hutt. Mr. Peter Carr, M.P. (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 18. Mr. Peter Carr, M.P. for Auckland West, who on October 5 announced his intention to retirO from politics, died to-day, aged 62. Mr. Carr in 1946 succeeded Mr. Savage as M.P. for Auckland West. He was employed for 27 years on the Auckland tramways and Avas president of the Tramways Union for 12 years.
