Atkins'’ Tactics Annoy McCready (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 17. Rough tactics adopted by Fred Atkins (17st lib) in a professional wrestling contest against Earl McCready (17st) kept a large attendance excited to-night, and led to Atkins’s defeat. He paid little heed to the referee’s orders from the first round, and had a penalty fall registered against him in the fourth for knocking the referee down when the latter was trying to separate the contestants on the ropes. In the sixth McCready tossed his opponent in a series of head throws, after which Atkins went out through the ropes. He stood up, and was walking about still outside the ropes when McCready reached over and threw him back into the ring with a flying mare. McCready then connected with a series of elbow jolts and seemed a second fall with a rocking chaii splits. Blomfield Wins Title Bout (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. Notable for its speed and lively action, the match for the heavyweight wrestling championship of Australasia in the Town Hall tonight, between “Lofty” Blomfield and George Pencheff, was won by Blomfield by two falls to one. The match was generally accepted by the packed bouse as well worthy of a title event. Pencheff gained his fall after the use of his popular drop-kick, which left Blomfield groggy for some time. Blomfield was unable to manoeuvre into position for his favourite octopus clamp because of Pencheff’s speed, and gained both his falls with jolts and dumps.
