BASKETBALL West Coast Teams Visit Canterbury

West Coast representative (teams visited Canterbury for matches lon Saturday, the senior A team playing South Canterbury at Timaru and the second grade team taking part in a field day conducted by the Canterbury Basketball Association at Christchurch. « South Canterbury defeated West Coast in. a fast and open match by 19 goals to 15. South Canterbury’s defence was outstanding but the West Coast forwards all played well. P. Robertson, who normally plays as a ' centre, made an impressive debut as a forward in this match. I The second grade team played I three matches, losing to Canterbury B—lo8 —10 and Ashburton 12—36 and defeating Ellesmere by 10 goals to 9.
