THE WEATHER Forecast: Unsettled.
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: An anti-cyclone is between the North Island and the Chathams; a depression is over the northeast Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate winds from an easterly quarter, developing to-night in the north and becoming more general to-morrow; temperatures cool. Further outlook: Unsettled. LOCAL RECORDINGS 9 a.m.: Barometer, 1002; thermometer, 44; wind, easterly (moderate breez4); sky, blue and cloudy; bar, considerable swell; rainfall to yesterday morning, 0.83 inches; to this morning, 0.01 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 71.57 inches). The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 25ft lOin.
