FAROES ISLANDS
EFFECT OF PLEBISCITE QUESTIONED (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, Sept. 22. The Danish Government issued a statement saying that the plebiscite on the Faroe Islands neither changes the islands’ political status nor entitles the local Parliament to proclaim its independence. “A unilateral act of this character cannot be recognised by the Danish Government, and any change in the present status must be the result of negotiations between the Faroes Parliament and the Danish authorities.”
