number of industries on LIST BRITISH LABOUR PLAN (Rec. 9.45 a.m.) _ on LONDON, Sept.. 22. Affirming the Government’s intention to proceed with its. plans for socialising a number of industries, Mr. Herbert Morrison, in a speech at Glasgow, specifically replied to the suggestions that the Government had retreated from its original stand in the case of iron and steel. Mr. Morrison said the Government still meant to introduce a scheme ioi public ownership and control over an essential part of the iron and steel industry, although he agreed that the Iron and Steel Board need not be inV °“Electricity is on the list with iron and steel. We have every intention of socialising them within the life o. the present Parliament, he added.
