Snooker Championship.
The New Zealand amateur snooker championships concluded on Saturday at Christchurch. The winner was J Munro (Canterbury). At the start of play yesterday, Munro was the only player left in the tournament with two lives. He won both semifinals, beating R. Whitford (Canterbury) by three games to two, and W. Smith (Canterbury by three games to one, thus winning the title. In a game to decide the runner-up, Whitford beat JSpith 3-2.—(P.A.)
