WHEAT AGREEMENT
ATTITUDE of farmers in AUSTRALIA THE NEW ZEALAND DEAL SYDNEY, Sept. 20. Wheatgrowers would be shocked by the Auckland report of the Australia and New Zealand wheat agreement, said the secretary of the Farmers’ and Settlers’ Association (Mr. I. McDougall). He added that /he Minister of Commerce and Agriculture (Mr. W. J. Scully) ,would have to explain why the agreement had been made when overseas parity was more than 11/— a bushel and when the New Zealand price was 7/1 a bushel. It was typical of Mr. Scully’s administration that details of this sale had not yet been disclosed to the public, including growers, through official channels, said ,Mr. McDougall.
