WAR MEMORIAL PROPOSAL FOR SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MEETING Addressing members of the Grey Main Home and School Association at a meeting of the, association this week, Mr N. Shallcrass, of the Grey Main School Committee, stated that his committee was considering the erection of a school assembly hall as a war memorial. He asked members of the association to co-operate in the raising of funds for the project and extended an invitation to members to attend the next meeting of .the committee when the matter would be fully discussed. Mrs R. Harries and Mrs/L. Patterson, members of the visiting committee, reported on their visits to sick children in the hospital. The president, Mr J. Bruerton, congratulated them on their work, and it was agreed that they should continue in their capacity for a further term, together with Miss Nesbitt. Following on a general discussion on future activities of the association it was resolved that a children’s concert be held at the school on October 21 and that the organisation of the programme be left to Mr J. Graham and the staff.

The secretary also suggested that an ex-pupils’ reunion, concert and dance be arranged. It was decided to consider the matter and to make provisional arrangements. A social hour in the form of a flag 500 competition followed the general business. Mrs A. Beck, Mrs Knight and Mr Thompson were the winners. A vote of thanks was passed to Miss Shaw lor her assistance with the ccmpetition arrangements. Supper was served by women members of the committee.
