“Not Snobs”
Loud cries of “Hear, hear" followed a suggestion made byyMr C. R. Spackman at the annual meeting of the Carisbrook Cricket Club, Dunedin, that the word “esquirb” be in future omitted from the printed list of office-bearers. “Any visitors com-
ing here imagine we are snobs, he said, “and it is nothing but snobbery.” Amid laughter Mr Spackman s “motion” was carried.
