ATTRACTIVE DISPLAY

ST. PATRICK’S FLOWER SHOW ’ STRONG COMPETITION Strong competition in the amateur and children’s sections is the feature of the annual, spring show of the StPatrick’s Horticultural Society, which is being held in the St. Columba Hall to-day. The open classes did not fill well but the blooms are of a high stsridcircl. The judge of the ddft’odils, Mr. E. Yates, said that the flowers were very fresh and, with the possible exception of' the trumpets, were an excellent collection. One of the most pleasing features of the show was the keen competition in the amateur sections. The cut flowers were judged by Mr. O. Jackson and the decorative section by Miss B. Murphy. The champion bloom was staged by Mr. W.,Buchanan, whose blooms were also adjudged the champions in the incomparabilis’ and leedsii classes. The champion trumpet was exhibited by Mr. W. J. Second awards went to Nancy O’Donnell, Bernard Wood, Pamela Brown, Marie Dowdall, Mary O’Neill, Roberta Preston. Highly commended, Barbara Welsh and Patricia Roigard.
