GENERAL PERON’S OBJECT IN ARGENTINA government domination BUENOS AIRES. September 17. The Argentine President (General Perr.n), speaking in connection with the signing of the agreement with Britain under which British capital will gradually be retued from Argentina’s railway _ system, emphasised that his objective was State control of as much of Argentina’s industry as possible, and the domin?iion of the remainder by Government regulated private capital. ~ Extolling the progress ol nationalisation during the four months he had been President, General Peron declared that before his six years term ended not an inch of soil nor a breath of air in Argentina would fail to belong to the people. General Peron’s statement came amidst an accelerated official drive for State control of basic industries, and follows a Ministerial pronouncement that the labour unions are Govercpierit controlled and must obey orders, and also threatening the major Argentine newspapers if they continue to object to nationalisation policies.
