(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Sept. 18. Darcy Hoffman (12.6), Invercargill, knocked out Norman Ross (11.9). of Bluff, in the ninth of a ten-round professional boxing contest to-night. Ross was knocked off his feet nine times in eight rounds. Hoffman is a Merchant Navy seaman’who has just returned from England, where he had considerable success in professional bouts.
