GREY PLAY CENTRE
1 NOREASE 1N ATTEN DANCES LAST YEAR There was an increase of 2i- per cent, in the weekly attendances at the Greymouth Nursery Play Centre during last year, according to the report of the president of the centre, Mrs L. Andrae, presented at the annual meeting held on Tuesday evening. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs L. Andrae; secretary, Mrs J. B. Bluett; treasurer, Mrs A. L. McKay; (all re-elected); committee: Mesdames D. M. Logan, S. McAra, G. Lowes, R. Mitchell, R. Steel, and H. Schmidt, Miss Pearce and Mr H. Clifford. It was decided that Mrs Schultze attend the annual meeting of supervisors to be held in Christchurch on September 28. An offer of assistance in the purchasing oi a slide for the use ol children at the centre was received from the Rotary Club. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr F. Congreve for his services as auditor. The balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed the centre to be in a satisfactory financial position. The president’s report, which was adopted, referred to the children’s party held earlier this year when there was an attendance of 40 mothers and 60 children. It was also stated that a flower show had materially asisted the centre’s funds. Donations from the Mayoress, Mrs F. A. Kitchingham, Grey Rotarians, Brunner Miners’ Union and various business firms, were acknowledged.
