THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair
The following weather forecast' was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A depression north of Auckland is moving eastward; a cold front is advancing over the South island. t Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: “Moderate to fresh southwesterly t winds - prevailing; weather cloudy and showery, but fair intervals increasing from to- ' night; temperatures rather cold. Further outlook: Scattered showers, mainly in the south. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.: barometer, 1008; thermometer, 48; Wind, west (light breeze); sky, overcast with passing showers; bar, moderate swell; rainfall, 0.30 inches (the total rainfall to date this year is 70.39 inches). The depth on the bar ..at high water yesterday was 23ft. 101ns.
