NUREMBERG TRIAL

DEATH SENTENCES BY HANGING OR BEHEADING JUDGMENT POSTPONED (Rec. 11.15 a.m.)TONDON, Sept 17. It is reliably stated in Berlin that the Allied Control Council has decided that any of the Nuremberg defendants sentenced to death will be either hanged or beheaded at Nuremberg. Photographs will be taken ol the executions to prove that the sentences have been carried out. It is also reported that four Powers are establishing a jointly-controlled prison in Berlin to house wai criminals convicted at Nuremberg. The authorities in Nuremberg today grafted permission to the children of Nazi war criminals to visit them in prison. The president of the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal (Lord Justice Lawrence) announced to-day tha. iudgment in the trials of the Nazi leaders had been postponed foi one week until September 30. Correspondents in Nuremberg say that the reason for the postponement is the physical impossibility of the judges and their four deputies getting through the vast mass .of evidence in the three weeks originally allotted.
