VIOLENT ACTION
MARITIME STRIKE IN NEW YORK POLICE GUARD' WHARVES NEAV YORK, Sept. 17. Strongly reinforced police guards have been posted .on the New York wharves to-day following the first outbreak of violent action since Ihe seamen’s strike started. Crowds of dockers and other workers crashed through the seamen’s picket lines shortly after a French liner had berthed and started to unload baggage.
