BIG DOLLAR CREDIT
HELP FOR PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS NEW YO’RK, September 17. Pan American Airways have secured a 40,000,000 dollar credit, mainly' to cover the urifinanced balance of the 100,000,000 dollar equipment programme for Pacific and other world services. The New York Sun says it is understood that Pan American Airways operated on a profit for the first Six months of 1946, but probably encountered difficulties as a result of the grounding of Constellations in July and August. However, it expects to return to profit-making with the operation of these aeroplanes.
