Senibi’-Sergbaiit R. C. Mcßobie said that tlib debused was single, 27 years'of age. At about 9.30 last night he and a friend visited the radio station in the Central Chambers. The accused was in a drunken condition, but his friend was fairly sober. The mechanician naturally resented their presence and ordered them away. They went out to the landing, where they commenced an altercation between themselves. They were again ordered away, but persisted in arguing, and eventually the accused put his fist through a window. The police were notified and searched for the offender, but it was not until 0.30 a.m. that Constable Uddstrom accosted the accused on the street. He was then drunk and had a cut on his fiffger. He admitted breaking the window and was later identified by the, radio station officer. The accused had’ a previous conviction, but it appeared that the present incident was only a drunken escapade. Asked if he had anything to say, the accused stated that’ he was just drunk and did not know what he was doing. He had gone up to the place under the impression that he was going to a servicemen's club. On the charge of wilful damage, the accused was fined £ 1 and ordered to pay 7/-, the amount of the damage. On the charge of drunkenness he was fined. 5/-. .
