THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair to Cloudy.
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A depression is situated in the north Tasman Sea; a series of westerly depressions is passing in the south. ' Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Light to moderate and variable winds; a few brief showers likely to-night south of Hokitika, but weather otherwise fair to cloudy; temperatures cool to moderate. Further outlook: Changeable, with a few showers. LOCAL RECORDINGS . 9 a.mj Barometer, 1013; thermometer, 45; wind, east (moderate breeze); sky, cloudy; bar, considerable swell; rainfall, 0.04 inches. (The (otal rainfall to date this year . is 70.09 inches). The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 22ft Bins.
