TALKS WITH VICEROY
MOSLEMS AND THE INTERIM GOVERNMENT ASSEMBLY TO MEET (Rec. 1 p.m.) NEW DELHI, September 16. It is officially announced that the Constituent Assembly, which is to devise the new constitutional arrangements under which India can achieve independence, will meet on December 9. The Moslem League leader, Mr. Jinnah, conferred with Lord Wavell to-day. The main subject of the discussion is believed to have been
Moslem League participation in the all-India Interim Government. It is hoped that further talks between Mr. Jinnah and Pandit Nehru can be arranged. Subhas Chandra Bose, who was reported killed in an air crash soon after the Japanese surrender, is still alive, says a statement issued by his party, the All-India Forward bloc. Bose will reappear at an opportune time and lead “the final revolution to free India from the foreign yoke,” adds the statement.
