City Personalities.
A contention that the main cities of Australia could be most aptly described'in the respective phrases most commonly used in greeting visitors was expressed by Mr. A. R. Cutler, V.C., the Australian High Commissioner, in an address at a Dunedin Junior Chamber of Commerce reception. In Brisbane they said, “Come and have a drink”; in. Sydney, “How much money have you got?”;'in Melbourne, “What school did you go to?”; in Adelaide, “What church do you go to?”; and in Perth, “Come and have another drink.”
