WRESTLING Pencheff and Claybourne Draw

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 8. Fresh zest was given to the wrestling season in Wellington to-night when George Pencheff (Australia), making his debut here, drew with Jack Claybourne, the negro champion, one fall each, after the fastest bout for some time. Excellent wrestling was mixed with high-class showmanship. Pencheff early secured a fall with a drop-kick, followed by a body press. It was the fall secured by the negro, however, which brought down the house. It was a rolling step-over toehold in which Pencheff was bundled round the ring until he became an easy victim for a pin.
