LIQUOR PROFITS
PRESBYTERY AVILL NOT
PARTICIPATE
(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Aug. 6. The Presbytery of Southland has declared its unwillingness to participate in any of the profits of the Invercargill Licensing Trust. At a meeting of the Presbytery, the following motion was carried unanimously:— “As the situation has arisen where a religious organisation has been offered a donation from the profits of the Invercargill Licensing Trust, the Presbytery of Southland deems it wise to declare its mind on the matter. The Presbytery is unwilling- in itself, or through its associated organisations, to participate in any profits derived from the. Invercargill Licensing Trust, and it advises. all organisations of this church to adopt a similar attitude.”
