JAPAN’S REPARATIONS
QUESTION OF DIVISION
Washington, Aug. 4.
The United States has proposed an international conference to decide how the Allies should divide millions of dollars’ worth of Japanese reparaions. The American Note suggesting the conference is reported to have proposed that the Russian removal of Manchurian industry be taken into account in determining the formula. The United States proposal has been submitted' to the 11 member nations of the Far Eastern Commission and is awaiting their decision. It is tentatively suggested that the conference be held in the United States All the decisions would be referred to the Far Eastern Commission.
