AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS
SYDNEY, August 5
A prediction that if Labour organised thoroughly and carried out an intensive campaign no seats would be lost, at the Federal elections, was made by the Prime Minister (Mr. Chifley) at a conference of Labour Party and union officials to-day. Mr. Chifley said that in spite of a campaign apparently designed to create confusion carried out by “certain interests” there was no sign of a swing against Labour. There were signs that Labour’s organisation in all states, in contrast to that of the Opposition, was in a healthy state.
