A resolution of the Women’s Non-Party League of Tasmania, condemning the “deplorable crudity” of Parliamentary broadcasts, was attacked by Dame Enid Lyons, who said that members of Parliament were not elected for their culture or elocution, but represented a crosssection of the Australian people. Mr. A. Cameron said that members of Parlament could not be better than the people choosing them.
