The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A belt of high pressure is north of New Zealand. Pressure is very low to the south. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate to west-south-westerly winds, veering northerly late tomorrow; weather cool and changeable with occasional showers. Further outlook: Showery. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer, 998; thermometer, 53; wind, west (moderate breeze); sky, overcast with moderate rain; bar, considerable sea; river, moderate fresh; rainfall to this morning, 0.67 inches; to yesterday morning, 0.04 inches. (The total rainfall to date‘this year is 55.21 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 23ft lOin.
