Jet Spitfire
The latest descendant of the Spitfire is a Vickers Submarine singleseat jet fighter, says the Evening Standard. The new plane, at present in test flying, is a jet version of the Vickers Spitfire, successor of the Spitfire. Its speed with a Rolls Royce Griffon piston engine is 460 miles an hour.—London, August 4.
