AWARDS TO GREYMOUTH FIREMEN , ANNUAL SOCIAL HELD Service honours marking the coni? ptefion of from three to 45 years’ service with the brigade were pre 7 sented to a number of members ,of the Gfeymouth Fire Brigade at the annual social held at the Central Fire Station on Saturday evening.. The large attendance ihcluded visiting firemen from various West Coast brigades, while the Inspector of Police Mr. M. J. Anglahd; arid .the Magistrate, Mr. A; A. . McLachlan, we>’e also guests. Superintendent T. Mclntosh presided. ■ The following, service honours were presented during the evening, by the chairman of the Fire Board, Mr. J. IB TCent* Gold Bar: Branchman Blocksage (45 years’ service). Silver Bars: Fireman Batty (23 years’) Motorman, Grant (19 years’); Ex-Fireman F. Molloy (18 years’); Branchman F. McEnaney (17 years’); Silver Medals: Branchman J. Hoggarth, Fireman G. Shaw (5 years’). Three Years’ Service Certificate: Firemen Patterson, Johnston, Brennan. Stewart and G. Kirk. A lengthy toast list was honoured during the evening, and items were •nven by Messrs Nelson, Payne, Richardson, McGrath, Coll, McLachlan and Woodhouse. Mr. Paterson was accompanist and Mr. Coleman led community singing.
