GALLANT SCOUT
SECOND AWARD IN TWO YEARS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 3. In his capacity as Dominion Chief Scout, the Governol-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, has approved of the award of the certificate of gallantry to Scout Ivan Stannish, of Te Aroha, in recognition of his action in rescuing a schoolboy who was in difficulties while swimming off the beach at Kawhia. Stannish received the Royal Humane Society’s framed certificate for rescuing a girl in similar circumstances two years ago.
