RUGBY LEAGUE New Competition Will Open Tomorrow

With the championship decided, the West Coast Rugby League will open a new one-round senior competition to-morrow, with an interesting programme of fixtures. 'On recent form Runanga and Ngahere appear fairly evenly matched and they should provide a keen tussle at Wingham Park. Runanga will again be without the services of J. Newton and with Ngahere at full strength some good forward play is to be expected. Marist and Brunner will meet at Brunner and although Marist has improved considerably since their last close game, seme good football should be seen. The new Hokitika thirteen, will make its first appearance in a competition fixture, against Blackball, at Hokitika. A full programme of lower grade fixtures will also be played. The Runanga-Blackball junior fixture has been transferred from Runanga to Wingham Park and will be played at 1.30 p.m.
