A crowd broke into the police building in.the northern’ industrial town of Miskolcz, dragged the chief of the Political Investigation Department, Arthur Fraenker, into the ■street and killed him by smashing in his head. They were demonstrating against the alleged ill-treat-ment of 16 workers who were arrested after lynching two Jews accused of black market activities.
