THE WEATHER Forecast: Changeable.
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A depression is south of the South Island; a depression is over the North Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate variable winds; weather changeable, with scattered showers, chiefly south of Greymouth; temperatures cool. Further outlook: Changeable westerly weather, with further scattered showers. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.: Barometer, 994; thermometer, 45; wind, east (moderate breeze); sky, cloudy; bar, considerable sea; rainfall, 0.25 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 54.50 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 25ft lOin.
