(Rec. 11 a.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, August 1. The Navy Minister announced that a boiler explosion resulting from fire destroyed the first-class accommodation on the transport Deque de Caxias and that only the alertness oi the captain and the crew averted a total loss. The casualties included 17 dead and an unknown numbei ot injured. _
