LOTTERY PRIZE
BROTHERS WIN £lO,OOO (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 1. A prize of £lO,OOO in an overseas lottery has been won by Mr lan Bonifant, head auctioneer in Christchurch for Dalgety and Company, Ltd., and- his brother, Mr Brian Bonifant, who is on the staff of the Commercial Bank of Australia (in Dunedin. Mr lan Bonifant had a distinguished career in the 2nd N.Z.E.F. during the war and reached the rank of brigadier. Pie commanded the 6th Brigade at Cassino and the sth Brigade in the final Italian operation from the Senio river to Trieste. He won the Distinguished Service Order in North Africa and a bar to it in Italy. Mr Brian Bonifant served overseas with the Air Force and reached the rank of flight lieutenant. He served in Jugoslavia and Italy.
