WRESTLING McCready Beats Katau
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 1. The Wellington Towß Hall was packed to-night for the British Empire heavyweight wrestling title bout between Earl McCready, holder, and John Katan. It was probably the least spectacular bout of the season, because of the almost complete absence of showmanship. McCready won by two falls to one, the deciding fall coming in the eighth round. fJlavbouriie and Penciled’ Draw (P.A.) . CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. I.' The wrestling botit between George Pencheff (Australia) 16st, and Jack Claybourne (America) 16st 101 b., which drew a full house at the Civic Theatre this evening ended in a draw. Each wrestler secured a fall. Claybourne pinning his opponent in the third round, with a body press that followed a series of drop-kicks. In the seventh round Pencheff secured a fall with a body press after a flying tackle and drop-kicks.
