THE WEATHER Forecast: Occasional rain.
The following weather forecast was issued by the Office, Wellington, at noon to-day.— Situation: A deep is south of the Tasman; a cold iiont is over the central Tasman and is moving rapidly eastwards. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow. Northerly winds, becoming strong again to-night and backing temporarily to the southwest; weather overcast with occasional rain, heavy to-night, but considerable improvement during to-morrow; temperatures cool. , Further outlook: Unsettled, with occasional showers. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m. —Barometer, 999; mometer, 44; .wind, east '(light breeze); sky, overcast, with passing showers; bar, considerable sea; rapfall, 2.26 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 54.25 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 26ft.
